RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Statement on October Fundraising

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on October fundraising:
“October was another successful fundraising month for the Republican National Committee bringing our 2011 fundraising totals to $68.7 million.
“After a record-setting August and September, we have added another $8.5 million in October. The RNC has nearly $13.5 million cash on hand. In the past 9 and a half months, we have added over $13 million to our cash on hand and have retired over $10 million in debt.
“Highlighting the Republican enthusiasm across the country, over the last 10 months our major donors and grassroots supporters have returned in large numbers to the RNC. The RNC has more active donors today than we did at this point in 2007. In addition, our average contribution is $54. Their support has empowered us to build an effective, competitive operation to defeat Barack Obama in 2012.
“As we head toward election day, we will continue to use our money efficiently and responsibly, maximizing the value of every dollar entrusted to us. Most importantly, this puts us in a strong position to partner with our party’s eventual nominee.
“I thank each and every one of our supporters for their generosity. Together, we will elect Republicans up and down the ballot and make Barack Obama a one-term president.”
