WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) launched a new web video “$15 Trillion” marking an unfortunate milestone: $15 trillion in debt. The video contrasts President Obama’s empty rhetoric with his disastrous actions in office that have pushed us over the $15 trillion debt mark. As the ‘Undisputed Debt King,’ President Obama needs to alter his course before it’s too late.

“America has crossed an unthinkable threshold: our national debt now exceeds $15 trillion dollars. That’s more than $48,000 per citizen,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
“In 2009, President Obama promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. Instead, he further accelerated its growth, producing three years of record deficits.
“The legacy of Barack Obama is the most rapid increase in the federal debt of any modern president. In total, he amassed $4.4 trillion in debt in less than three years. While Republicans in Congress are advocating for balanced budgets and spending restraints, Democrats have shown no interest in fiscal responsibility.
“This massive debt slows our economy and damages our credit rating. America cannot afford another four years of this president and the Democrats’ reckless spending.”
