WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement regarding the White House’s latest contradiction on Solyndra:
“When the stimulus-backed company Solyndra went bankrupt, the White House claimed they had nothing to hide,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “But, apparently, they do.”
“Emails released today indicate one of President Obama’s major campaign fundraisers actively lobbied the White House on Solyndra’s behalf. The fundraiser, George Kaiser, was a major Solyndra investor. Until now, the Obama White House had vehemently denied any such unethical conversations occurred.
“After wasting over $500 million in taxpayer money to support the failed company of a political donor, the White House should immediately comply with the Congressional subpoenas in the ongoing Solyndra investigation. Americans deserve to know what else the self-proclaimed ‘most transparent administration in history’ is hiding.
“This all comes on a day when President Obama signed an executive order to end government waste.
“There is, however, one sure way to end ‘waste, fraud and abuse:’ make Barack Obama a one-term president.”
