WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement after Nancy Pelosi’s incendiary comments toward Republicans yesterday:
“Before a vote on the ‘Protect Life Act’ in the House Representatives, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi seized the opportunity to employ fear tactics in a shameless attack on Republicans. While the bill will offer greater protections for the unborn, Pelosi falsely claimed it would lead to women dying in hospitals. Such a distortion is not just baseless; it’s dangerous.
“Democrats have repeatedly resorted to such divisive scare tactics in effort to distract voters from their dismal economic record. But with high unemployment, record debt, and a floundering economy, their policies have truly hurt women all across the country as they struggle to make ends meet for themselves and their families.
“Instead of making false accusations to create political controversy, Leader Pelosi would do well to work with Republicans to create much-needed American jobs.”
