WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today launched the “Obama Debt-End Tour” campaign highlighting Obama’s economic failures with an event featuring RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and MNGOP Chairman Tony Sutton in Cannon Falls, MN, the first site of Obama’s campaign bus tour. The RNC campaign will include a web video and 60 second state specific radio spots to air in the three states President Obama will be visiting – Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois – reminding voters of the negative impact the President’s policies have had on those states’ economies. “Amid 9.1 percent unemployment and the fallout of the nation’s first credit downgrade, a taxpayer-funded PR junket is the last thing Americans need out of this President,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “For all his talk of getting Americans back to work, President Obama has yet to get to work himself. Every day that he spends at a fundraiser, on Martha’s Vineyard, or paying lip service to our nation’s problems, is another day that the unemployed continue to hunger for competent leadership from this President.
“And with the White House acknowledging that President Obama will not be putting forward any new job proposals on this tour, despite his promise to do so, rally goers can be guaranteed more empty political speeches. This latest White House PR stunt shows why elections matter, and why we must defeat Barack Obama in 2012 so that his Debt-End Bus-Tour presidency doesn’t steer the country further off course.”
