WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on the Mississippi gubernatorial primary election results today:
“Congratulations to Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant on his primary victory tonight. The Republican Party is excited to have Phil Bryant, a very a strong candidate for governor that will continue the strong leadership set out by Gov. Haley Barbour. Voters across the Magnolia State have a clear candidate whose record of fighting for lower taxes, conservative values and holding the government accountable is second to none and I am confident voters in Mississippi will choose Phil Bryant as their next governor.
“Republican leadership across our great nation is changing the debate to lower taxes and less spending and Bryant fits squarely into that mold.”
