RNC Political Director Rick Wiley:
“Three weeks ago we started a month long series pointing out the abysmal failure of Barack Obama and his economic policies, whether it’s a failed stimulus program, unemployment that’s skyrocketed, jobs lost and all the above. And today marks the final ad in the four ad series that will begin airing in Iowa, as well as Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida. Again, outlining the policies of this president.
“If you look back to President Obama taking office in January of 2009, since then you have seen our national debt increase by $3.7 trillion and that is due in large part to projects such as the $831 billion stimulus program, the ‘shovel ready’ program as they coined it, and then the president backtracked and said that actually shovel ready wasn’t as shovel ready as he had thought.
“You have ObamaCare, $2.6 trillion worth of spending for a program that many don’t want, don’t see the necessity of and you have states around the country that are trying to opt out of ObamaCare because it’s so bad.
“The one thing that you look at Iowa, we had Governor Terry Branstad have a huge victory this last cycle and really the Republicans on the rebound in the state of Iowa. The Democratic registration numbers, voter registration numbers have dwindled over the past two and a half years from 110,000 to now 35,000 today. So people are leaving the Democratic party because, in larger part because of the failed policies of this president.
“The record speaks for itself…two and a half million jobs lost, the largest deficit in history and we’re sitting at 14.3 trillion dollars in national debt.
“You know you have to put a face on this debt. This is debt that our children and grandchildren are going to be saddled with.
“Families are struggling around the country and in Iowa to make ends meet and again back to the failed policy of this president.
“He ran on a message of hope and change and I know Iowa fell in love with him in 2008, but I believe those Iowans when given an opportunity early next spring and through the summer and fall of 2012, I believe there’s going to be a different reception when he comes in to campaign in the Hawkeye state.”
