Grand Old Picnic [GOP Picnic] at the Blom Ranch

The Republican Party of Stanislaus County will host a Grand Old Picnic on Sunday, September 20th at the Nick & Els Blom Ranch at 2613 Illinois Avenue, Modesto. Gates open at 4:00 p.m.; tri tip & hot dogs with all the trimings served at 5:15 p.m. and program at 6:15 p.m. featuring invited guests Meg Whitman, candidate for Governor, Chuck DeVore, candidate for U.S. Senate [Barbara Boxer seat] and Senator Jeff Denham, candidate for Lt. Governor.

There will be musical entertainment, face painting, balloon art and a bounce house for the children.

REPUBLICANS PARTICIPATE IN PARADE & PICNIC IN THE PARK

The RPCS's entry in the 4th of July Parade is an antique fire truck graciously loaned to the committee for the second year by the Halverson family, owners of American Chevrolet. The fire truck will be decorated with ballons, banners and bunting. Anyone is welcome to join Cami Rogers and other stalwart Republicans to decorate the truck beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Stanislaus Implement and Hardware at the corner of 10th and F Streets, Modesto. PACIFIC JUSTICE INSTITUTE PRESIDENT BRAD DACUS IS JULY 6TH SPEAKER

The July 6th meeting of the Republican Party of Stanislaus County will feature a presentation by Brad Dacus, President of the Pacific Justice Institute. PJI is a non-profit legal defense organization specializing in the defense of religious freedom, parental rights, and other civil liberties. Pacific Justice Institute's strategy is to coordinate and oversee large numbers of concurrent court actions through a network of over 1,000 affiliate attorneys nationwide. And, according to former United States Attorney General Edwin Meese, “The Institute fills a critical need on the West Coast for those whose civil liberties are threatened.” The services of PJI are offered without charge.
 
The meeting, at the Eichel Building, 118 W. Orangeburg Avenue Modesto, begins at 6:00 p.m. with a reception hosted by Mr. Jeff Perine, Candidate for Modesto City Council Seat #4. Mr. Dacus will begin his presentation at 6:30 p.m. followed by questions.  A business meeting will follow his remarks. The meeting is free and open to the public.

FREE WORKSHOP FOR PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES ON JULY 11TH

What:  What you need to know for a successful run for Public Office:  This is a free workshop to provide citizens interested in running for public office -- now or at some time in the future. Attendees will gain an understanding of what to expect and how to proceed, including the “nuts-and-bolts" advice and information for candidates and for their key volunteers, especially the campaign treasurer.

 

When:  Saturday, July 11, 9:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

 

Where: The McClatchy Room at The Modesto Bee, 1325 H Street

 

Who: For anyone interested in running for elective office, including city councils, school boards, irrigation districts, municipal advisory councils, etc.

 

Why: To encourage people to participate in government and to help them know what’s required to do so
